Club Organization and Structure

Individuals may join a Rotary Club.   Each Rotary Club is a member of Rotary International.

The Rotary Club of Jenkintown is part of a global network of 32,403 rotary clubs in 168 different countries around the world with a total of over 1.2 million members. While our club is run as an independent entity, it cooperates and participates in many charitable endeavors with other rotary clubs (locally, nationally, and internationally).

Clubs in each local geographic region are organized into districts by Rotary International.

Our club one of the 54 local clubs in our region comprising  Rotary International District 7450.

As an officially chartered Rotary Club, the Rotary Club of Jenkintown as well as individual club members are obligated to follow the policies and regulations of Rotary International.  This includes adoption and adherence to the standard Rotary Club Constitution promulgated by Rotary International, adherence to the Rotary International Policy Code published by the Board of Directors of Rotary International, and adherence to the Bylaws of Rotary International..

The Rotary Club of Jenkintown's Bylaws are based on the Model Club Bylaws suggested by Rotary International, with modifications to suit the needs of our club made according to the bylaws, and updated periodically to reflect changes in Rotary International .

Active members of our club are organized into committees (as described in our by-laws), as well as special committees appointed by our club president.

This provides each member with the opportunity and privilege of service to our communities (local, national, and international) and to the club itself.  The committee structure fosters friendships and fellowship through service activities.

Generally, members are rotate through various committees and serve on any single committee for a limited period of time.  Rotating through different committees strengthens our organization while providing a varied experience for individual members over their years of service in the club.  Further details may be found both on this web site and in our club by-laws.

Club committees are overseen by an elected Board of Directors, which is the representative governing body of our club.  Certain decisions require a vote of the general membership.

Club officers are nominated either directly by individual members or by a nominating committee, then duly elected by the entire membership to service in positions with specialized obligations to the club membership and the Board of Directors.  Club officers are also members of the Board of Directors.

Additional information on club membership, committee structure, current officers, responsibilities of officers, and important  organizational documents may be viewed by clicking the menu buttons on the left side of this page.

Our very special, gourmet quality, citrus fruit is available to the general public during the Fall and Winter months when superior quality, native grown citrus fruit is in season.  We buy in bulk direct from the grower, but sell to the public considerably below retail prices.  All receipts from citrus sales are donated in full to charitable organizations screened and selected by the club.  For information on order dates, pickup dates, pricing, and varieties available please click hyperlink: Gourmet Citrus Fruit Order & Purchase Information
